- I have a hard time with "The Bachelor" telling is about what is right and wrong. After all, that shows delves in cheating, scandal and heartbreak, for entertainment purposes. It is set up to be low on ethics and morals. It is an entertainment show, not some morality lesson.
* Newspapers and other forms of media should have never allowed their content to be grabbed up by social media without some cost. Now, rushing to put up pay walls and the like may be too little too late. My college newspaper, The Daily Vidette (Illinois State University) is ceasing its print publication after 133 years. That is sad on many levels but it was a learning tool for me since I worked there for 3 years. I also got paid to do that, while getting my degree. * Updated numbers for Grammys on CBS are 8.8 million OUCH! BEFORE: It looks bleak for the Grammy TV ratings. Like the Golden Globes before them, the Grammy telecast lost around 10 million viewers year-to-year. So far, the numbers are not good (7.86 million). This will be UPDATED for sure. They will desperately look for more viewers. Pandemic should mean more viewers, not less. Awards shows are PR campaigns designed to sell product. No one tunes in and that goes away. Media will never accept the real reason for the drop of all these type of shows. It is the lectures, the woke culture that is driving people to TUNE out. For others, it is the product. They just do not like the product. They do not have to like what Hollywood is selling.
- The Black and White film genre is my favorite so "Mank" leading the way with 10 noms is fine by me. And "Citizen Kane" is a great film. The MANK comes for Herman Mankiewicz, who co-wrote "Citizen Kane" with Orson Welles.
